Impac Mortgage Holdings, Inc. Announces a Third Quarter Dividend Payment of $0.75 Per Common Share and Balance Sheet Growth Projected to a Record $20.0 Billion

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Joseph R. Tomkinson, Chairman and CEO of Impac Mortgage Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: IMH), or the "Company," a Maryland corporation, being taxed as a Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT"), is pleased to announce the Board of Directors' approval and declaration of a third quarter dividend of $0.75 per common share. The third quarter dividend will be paid October 15th, 2004 to shareholders of record on October 8th, 2004. The ex-dividend date will be October 6th, 2004, therefore, new shareholders interested in receiving the third quarter dividend must purchase common stock on or before October 5th, 2004.

Mr. Tomkinson commented, "The company continues to experience strong adjustable rate loan production, which will allow us to grow our balance sheet to over $20.0 billion by the end of the year. We believe the growth of the balance sheet will ensure our goal of delivering consistent reliable dividends in the future which will produce an extremely attractive dividend yield to support the stock price."
